Wind and solar Hybrid power system
Based on many renewable energy professionals, a little "hybrid" electric system that integrates home wind electric and house solar electric (photovoltaic or PV) technologies offers a few advantages over either single system.
In most of the usa, wind rates tend to be lower in the summer when the sunshine shines brightest and longest. The wind is powerful inside winter months whenever less sunshine is available. Because peak running times for wind and solar systems happen at different occuring times for the day and 12 months, hybrid methods may produce power when you need it.
Many crossbreed systems are stand-alone methods, which operate "off-grid" - not attached to an electrical energy distribution system. For times when neither the wind nor the solar power system are producing, most crossbreed methods supply power through batteries and/or an engine generator powered by mainstream fuels, eg diesel. If the electric batteries operate low, the engine generator provides energy and recharge the battery packs.
Adding an engine generator makes the system more complicated, but contemporary digital controllers can function these systems automatically. An engine generator also can reduce the measurements of one other elements needed for the machine. Keep in mind that the storage capability should be adequate to produce electrical needs during non-charging periods. Battery banks are usually sized to produce the electric load for one to 3 days.
